But WarBaby’s passion runs deeper than art—it’s rooted in experience. During his 9 years of service as a U.S. Army combat cameraman, he completed over 250 missions across two deployments. Amid the chaos of war, he produced music under fire in tents, turning adversity into creativity and trauma into therapy. It was in the military that he mastered the tools of his trade—video, photography, storytelling—but learned a hard truth: he didn’t own any of it.

 

The turning point came when the Army hired Contractors for a marketing campaign for Airborne School. Contractors weren’t authorized to fly on military aircraft, so they needed someone both highly skilled and airborne-qualified. WarBaby was that needle in a haystack. Without hesitation, he drove two hours on short notice, jumped out of a perfectly good airplane, and delivered elite footage under pressure. But when his boots hit the ground, he was forced to sign away the rights to his work—and worse, was met with criticism by people who didn’t understand the complexity or risk involved. That moment solidified his purpose: never again would he create without ownership, and no other artist should have to either.
